Braun Series 5 Model 8995 Men’s Shaver is an electric shaver that suits most modern men. It features Gillette Blade Technology that cuts hairs in just one stroke without tugging or pulling the skin.

With conventional shavers, one has to press the shaver harder and goes over the same area to cut those stubborn hairs that lie flat to skin, thus causing irritation.

The Series 5 has SmartFoil pattern that captures hairs that grow in different directions. It has Clean&Renew System which cleans automatically, lubricates and dries the shaver.

The 3-Stage Cutting System smoothly shaves long hairs and stubble which results to closer shave in just a few strokes.

Series 5 is a rechargeable shaver which features a non-slip handle for extra ease in maneuvering and has ergonomic shape.

This shaver allows 50 minutes of continuous cordless shaving when fully charged for 1 hour. When the battery gets empty, it can be quickly charged for 5 minutes which is enough to use for one shaving.

This shaver is a well-engineered machine that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It gives a very close shave.
This shaver is pretty close to perfection.
It comes out sparkling clean. The cleaning solution leaves a pleasant citrus scent on the blades.
The hard plastic is a nice touch for travel purposes.
It shaves a lot closer in half the time and it cleans itself.
It’s nice that the LCD tells you at what time you should replace with new foils and cutters.
This razor feels right from the better grips on razor’s body to the powerful motor.
It seems to get the hair on the neck with much greater ease.
The cleaning system is very quiet and leaves the razor looking like it has never been used.
The blade is very sharp and it cuts through thick beard like butter.

Users’ Negative Comments

This shaver doesn’t take all of the hair though all of the verbal suggestions have been tried like slow shaving and pulling the skin tight.
The shaving result is unacceptable with this shaver especially for the hair under the chin and neck.
The flexing head proved much of a problem since it slips and jumps over the skin.
It will not give you anything better than a stubble shave.
After using it in the shower, it died. The manual doesn’t say that it can’t be used in the shower.
There are still hairs sticking out even after going over and over on several spots.
