Braun Series 7-760cc Shaver Review

Braun Series 7-760cc ShaverThe Braun 7 – 760cc shaver is an electric shaver that has been engineered to capture more hair with every stroke, even problem hairs for the closest and most comfortable shave.

The Pulsonic Technology featured in the Sonic Action motor generates 10,000 micro-vibrations per minute through the shaver head to gently stimulate the skin, causing the skin to ripple thus helps to expose and shave more hairs with every stroke.

The Braun 7 is equipped with Gillette Blade Technology to shave the hair close in a single stroke without pulling or tugging with high-speed precision and for exceptional closeness and comfort.

The shaver incorporates a Sensitive Flexing Head that follows the contours of your face with twice the pivoting angle compared to other Braun shavers and shaves hard-to-reach areas using touch sensitive foils that adapt to the slightest change in skin surface for maximum facial conformity.

The shaver’s patented Power-Comb technology meanwhile lifts problem hairs that lie flat to the skin to avoid missed hairs in hard-to-shave areas.

The ENERGY STAR-qualified battery charger means that the charger that comes with the shaver is energy-efficient and it shows Braun’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

The Braun 760cc features Clean & Renew system that automatically cleans, lubricates, dries and charges the shaver at the touch of a button. The shaver’s head can also be easily cleaned under running water.

The Braun Series 7- 760cc Shaver features ergonomic and modern design that combines an elegant silver and chrome finish with sleek lines.

Other features include interactive LCD screen, Li-ion rechargeable battery for long lasting power per full charge, 5-minute Quick-Charge mode when you are on the go and Dual Voltage capable for international use.

Below are the pros and cons of the Braun Series 7- 760cc Shaver as described and experienced by its users.

Pros

  • The shaver gives one of its users a better shave than the Braun 7526.
  • The shaver is far more comfortable than the Braun 7526, not nearly as much irritation.
  • The shaver is also quieter than the Braun 7526.
  • The automatic Clean & Renew system helps save a bit of the fluid in the cartridge.
  • Cartridge changing is easy.
  • The shaver automatically charges each time you put it back in the cleaning unit, whether you clean it or not.
  • Much better than the old model where you had to select “charge” every time.
  • You can operate the shaver as a corded shaver, as the power cord can be plugged directly into the shaver.
  • The body is easy to grip.
  • The shaver gives you a shave as close as an electric shaver can and works well around problem areas like the throat and angles of the lower jaw.
  • The cleaning system is also worth it because it cleans, lubricates, disinfects and charges the shaver with just a push of the button.
  • Extremely comfortable and close shave.
  • The shaver glides over the skin of one of its users smoothly and comfortably and never gets warm, even without using any pre-shave or lubricant. The Panasonic 8077 Vortex had more friction and generated significantly more heat (again, not using the wet shave functionality).
  • The shaver is cost effective and efficient.
  • You can always use the shaver on the cord, should the battery be flat or failed.
  • The shaver comes with a protective case for travelling and the case has a brush built in so you can clean the shaver while on the road away from the cleaning base.
  • The shaver shaves fast, close and is even easier to maintain than the Braun 8595 as claimed by one of the users.
  • The shaver is recommended for head shaving.
  • Zero skin irritation, never cuts and never pulls the skin according to one of the users.
  • The shaver doesn’t have a problem with several days growth.
  • The shaver is comfortable to hold, feels solid, but not too heavy.
  • The battery lasts about a week, and you can use it with the cord if you forget to charge it.
  • The trimmer is useful for sideburns, eyebrows, etc.
  • The shave is an unbelievable improvement over the Braun 7000 series.

Cons

  • The appearance is not nearly as nice as the black on black of the Braun 7526 as commented by one of its users.
  • The trimmer is somewhat flimsy and awkward to use but it works.
  • The shaver seems to have a hard time removing the hairs from neck of one of the users.
  • One users complained that the shaver worked ok for a year, but then died (won’t charge or run off cord). After doing a search, this has happened to others.
  • Not waterproof, but can be rinsed under the tap.
  • The trimmer cuts neatly but when it is in use, it is hidden by the body of the shaver, and that is an inconvenience.
  • One of the users mentioned that the shaver does close shave, almost as close as razor, however you need to use after shave, because it warms quickly and leaves red spots all over the face.
  • One of the users found that the silver paint is coming off in small pieces near the swivel head revealing a large black plastic area where the large “CAUTION” lettering appears after 16 months.
  • The shaver is not great on the neck area and requires several passes to get the stubble to an acceptable condition according to one of the users.
  • The shaver is expensive and the supplies are also expensive.
  • The shave is not quite as close as a wet shave.
  • The shaver did a good job on the cheeks in terms of closeness, but left the user’s face feeling sore.
  • Under the bottom lip the shaver cut the user and it was no better at the under the chin stuff.
  • As for closeness, pretty good but the shave was no better than the previous Braun shaver.
  • One of the users wanted a more environmentally green product than his disposable razor and shaving cream, but this isn’t it. Lots more waste in the form of disposable packaging for the cleaning solution. The unit uses one of these a month and Braun doesn’t have a refill kit for the solution.
  • The cleaning system is very loud.
  • You can no longer simply remove the screen to clean the blade – the only way to clean it now is to use the GIANT base in the cleaning mode to clean the shaver.
  • The head is now made of flimsy plastic – clearly made to be replaceable – another consumable part.
