Below are the pros and cons of the Panasonic ES4026NC Pro Curve Rechargeable Double Blade Wet/Dry Men’s Shaver, Blue/Yellow as described and experienced by its users.
Pros
- The shaver has long battery life.
- The shaver shaves close and is very quiet.
- The shaver has an ergonomic design.
- Easy clean up with soap and water.
- This shaver is perfect for women as well as men.
- The shaver works fine as a wet shaver in and out of the shower and it is quiet because of the counter directional blades.
- The shaver is a fantastic shaver for the price and comparable to other high-end shaver.
- The shaves are as good and close as the more expensive electric shavers and just almost as good as a straight razor.
- When used regularly with shaving foam in the shower, this is the closest to a blade shave.
- Light weight, easy to grip and comfortable in the hand.
- The shaver has essentially two heads instead of the three, and it makes shaving under the nose really easy and more accurately with a three blade shaver.
- The shaver does not give you razor burn.
- The foils are comfortable and flex nicely.
- The pop up trimming attachment is a good length and works ok for cleaning up the edges of one of the users beard and sideburns.
Cons
- No cord for shaving when the battery is dead.
- Inadequate performance for long bear growth or course beard hair unless you shave daily and don’t have course beard hair.
- The razor sits on top of the charger when it is plugged in. You must have a good receptical or you will find your razor on the floor.
- Panasonic recommends only using shave foam not gel so that is a bit odd but even with that option there is still significant post razor burn even when using it wet.
- The shave is quite rough especially the first few uses.
- The shaver does not work well if the user let his beard grow more than a couple days as it lacks the third blade that his Braun 5416 has to catch the long stubbles.
- One of the users can’t seem to get that close a shave below his jaw-line.
- One of the users found himself having to touch up with a blade, and every few days he has to use a blade to get everything really clean after using the shaver.
- Shaving dry, it always left stray whiskers standing that the user had to cut with the side burn trimmer.
- Shaving wet nearly doubled the time it took for the user to shave and again left stray whiskers.
- The shaver does have trouble with longer neck hairs.
- The blades could not handle the longer whiskers.
- The razor could not hold enough charge to do more than 6-7 shaves.
- After just two months the cutting capabilities greatly diminished. It made cutting/grinding noises, but needed multiple passes, where the user had to push down to get it to shave.
- The batteries are just NiCads (to keep the cost down), the kind that has a “memory”. After 4 months, they barely hold 2 days worth of a charge.
- The shaver doesn’t have worldwide voltage so it is not very useful if you travel overseas.
- There is no indicator light of any kind.
- This model takes a long time to recharge.
- The shaver cannot be used while it is charging since its sitting in the base against a wall outlet.
