The Philips Norelco 8060X Moisturizing Shaving System is an advanced electric shaver combines with Nivea moisturizer dispensing system. The Nivea for Men shaving conditioner which is enriched with vitamins and chamomile is dispensed directly onto the skin to condition the skin and support a healthy look.
The improved Nivea for Men Shaving Conditioner together with the Philips Norelco Cool Skin shavers make shaving more comfortable and less irritating to the skin.
The improved Lift & Cut system makes sure that the shaver provides an even closer shave thanks to the dual blade system. The first blade lifts and the second blade cuts for a comfortable and soothing shave. With the new design, the shaver is easier to clean and fits more comfortably in the hand.
The Flex Tracker System gives a smooth and perfect shave by following closely the contours of the face where the blades are aligned with the skin to allow hairs to be cut closer to the skin. The Glide Rings on the shaving heads meanwhile help the shaver to move smoothly over the face.
The Integrated Cartridge Refill System featured on the shaver can be pumped directly with the Nivea for Men shaving conditioner. The advantage of this is user don’t have to apply any moisturizer on the face prior to the shave thus save time and energy. Under regular use conditions, the Nivea for Men shaving conditioner can last up to 3 months.
The Philips Norelco 8060 shaver is waterproof and washable so with a simple rinse under the tap it is easy to keep the shaver clean. The shaver also comes with a cleaning brush to remove small hairs. The shaver can be fully charged for only 1.5 hours.
The Philips Norelco 8060X Moisturizing Shaving System comes standard with precision tube trimmer, charging stand, power plug, travel pouch, protection cap, quick start leaflet, shaving conditioner refill can (75 ml) and refill and charge stand.
Below are the pros and cons of the Philips Norelco 8060X Moisturizing Shaving System experienced by its users.
Pros
- The shaver is very quiet.
- The shaver gives a good close shave, almost as good as a razor shave.
- A good shave takes roughly 5 minutes, more or less the same time as a good razor shave.
- The cleaning of the shaver is very easy where user just need to rinse the shaver under the faucet. It’s easier to clean due to its open design.
- The shaver is smaller and more lightweight than its predecessors.
- Not having to replace lotion cartridges every couple of weeks is a plus.
- Charging and battery life also is excellent.
- The stand not only recharges the razor but automatically refills the razor with lotion.
- The razor charges in no time, 90 minutes for a full charge and it has a quick charge mode.
- The shaver comes with a trimmer attachment. Just pull the blade head off and snap the trimmer on.
- A user experienced very little razor burn the first time he used it.
- The moisturizing system does work very well where the user gets substantially less skin irritation.
- The shaver is comfortable to hold and use.
- The redesigned head makes it much easier to shave in hard to reach places, notably the neck and below the nose. And if you’re troubled by hair growing out of your ears the heads do a decent job of reaching this area.
Cons
- The heads/razors are floating and not encased as previous models and most other shavers because as you shave, all of the hair pieces fall from the shaver to the counter or wherever else.
- The blades sit atop the body making the razor smaller overall but leaves the blades vulnerable to damage during travel.
- The lotion doesn’t always make it to the blade or skin surface.
- While the shaver does fine on one of the user’s cheek, it does little or nothing on the neck.
- One user have to shave every day or it becomes difficult to get clean shave without many passes.
- The battery charger does not have a simple timer during charging because the batteries should not be overcharged. Therefore, the user has to make an effort to stop the charging process after 90 minutes.
- One user has his neck turning red but no cuts, but he felt the pain when he got in the shower.
- The users have to use the razor bent over a sink or in the shower because clippings come out of the head, and they are free to fall from there.
- The trimmer is awkward to use and not nearly as good as what many other shavers have because the trimmer is too small and operates too slowly to be effective.
- One user experience higher rate of ingrown hairs compared to other electric shaver.
- The lotion seems to drip off of razor head while shaving.
- While the charge and refill station is great, it seems that I always run out of moisturizer before running out of battery, so the user has to remember to refill it himself, since Norelco suggest not to leave the razor on charge all the time.
- Having to detach the cutting heads and replace them with the trimmer is inconvenient.
